Happy Necks L.L.C. was formed in the summer of 2003 by Giovanni Loria, Tawny Ellis and Jedidia. NECKSOCK inventor and longtime musician Giovanni Loria conceived the idea and developed the 1st prototypes that would eventually become the NECKSOCK.
Gio started playing electric bass at the age of 14 and at 16 years old while playing in the high school jazz band began playing the upright bass. A few years later he began playing the guitar and is a guitar & bass enthusiast and collector. Gio has played on many albums and thousands of live gigs worldwide. His musical styles include blues, folk, rock, hip hop, jazz and classical. Some of the artists that Gio has fortified the rhythm sections for include: The Black Eyed Peas, Everlast, Jack Johnson, Cult & Guns n Roses drummer Matt Sorum, Jazz Pianist Brad Mehldau & many more.
"Over the many years of gigs and studio sessions I couldn't even begin to count the number of strings that I have gone through on my many instruments.? Ultimately it was out of necessity that the NECKSOCK was born. "I love to leave my most prized guitars and basses out on stands around the house or studio. They are like my muses?
After years of improvising with towels & t-shirts I wondered how I could leave my instruments out and easily accessible without having to continuously change the strings or put them in & out of cases. The idea of a fitted cover made simply to protect the strings, while allowing the instrument to be displayed, incorporated years of experience into the first ever NECKSOCK.
